Shore School, Northbridge
Masterplan

Northbridge Playing Fields Masterplan

The ELC and Kindergarten project created widespread concern of traffic chaos with the advent of a new school, Saturday sport, the Northbridge Plaza and the Willoughby Leisure Centre. Peter Mayoh convinced Willoughby Council that the traffic issues, regarding the new school, should be handled in isolation and the Saturday sport traffic be resolved with a future Master Plan.

This pledge was honoured with the 2011 Master Plan, showing all buildings and development now completed. ‘G’ Ground was engineered to allow for ‘on field’ car parking for afternoon home games of Rugby. This was to the satisfaction of both Council and local residents.

Peter Mayoh represented Shore in tripartite agreements with the DMR (now RMS) and Willoughby Council in land swaps which benefited the school and the adjacent Willoughby Paddocks residential development project.

The fall across the site was utilised to give views over a soccer dedicated oval to the west and a main tennis court to the east. The inclusion of major water storage under the new courts dovetail with an overall drainage and irrigation network, which needed to be coordinated with the landscape proposals.

The interface of the courts and their relevant levels with the remaining owners on Eastern Valley needed to be carefully handled to minimises level changes.
