Update: Our Lady of Mercy College, Parramatta

In 2018, Mayoh Architects were engaged to prepare a campus-wide Master Plan for Our Lady of Mercy College Parramatta. The Master Plan proposes a combination of new build and adaptive reuse projects, to achieve the best possible use of the campus for the future. The vision for the Master Plan is to create “A Vibrant, Dynamic and Connected Oasis of Learning”. We have recently received Development Application approval for Stage 1 of the Master Plan, which involves refurbishments and a new four storey extension to the existing heritage-significant Brigid Shelly Building, to provide new and upgraded General Purpose Learning Areas, breakout and collaboration areas, as well as a tiered Presentation Space on the Ground Floor. The addition will be arranged around a central atrium and courtyard filled with landscaping, allowing natural light and air to circulate throughout the building. The new teaching and learning environments will be light-filled, flexible, technology-enabled, naturally ventilated, have strong visual links to the landscape beyond and above all will be inspiring places for both teachers and students to be in. We look forward to working on the next stages of this exciting project to bring Stage 1 of the Master Plan to life.
